The Trips

Beginning in the summer of 2017, we will offer longer trips (new six hour) that will allow us to travel further away from our base to explore other grayling streams with less pressure. We will now have more options for our guides to choose from and we believe this will benefit our clients, local residents, tourists as well as our local waters, well into the future.

We are proud to have been partnering with Ahtna, Inc. our local native corporation, for the past eight years. Our land use permit with Ahtna gives Denali Fly Fishing Guides permission to cross Ahtna lands in order to access the area’s Arctic Grayling waters. This Ahtna land use permit fee is included in your trip.

Space is limited on all of our trips. Some trip departures will be full we prior to our summer season. We offer a 2 guest to 1 guide ratio (unless one group of 3) so there will be plenty of individual instruction time. To check availability, please call in advance at 907-768-1127 or use the contact section below.

New Six Hour Guide’s Choice Trip, May 18 – September 1

Two scheduled six hour trips with door to door transfers are scheduled daily. Both are targeting our Native Arctic Grayling in their summer feeding habitat. This additional time allows for exploring other streams located further from our base. Our goal is to take some pressure off our nearest and most fished waters.

  • 2 PM – 8 PM

Evening Trip, May 18 – September 1

Learn the basics from our seasoned guides and spend the evening on a small, beautiful, clear water stream. A great opportunity for the experienced fisherman to pull away from a busy schedule for some stream time or for the beginner to get their feet wet. No worries, waders are included.

$185 per person, one person minimum

  • 4:15 PM – 8:45 PM

Full Day Trips, June 1 – September 1

A full day with Denali Fly Fishing Guides allows even more time for travel to the area’s streams for an 8.5 hour trip chasing Arctic Grayling on the Denali Highway or Rainbow Trout (July 15 – September 1) south of Broad Pass on Denali National Parks Southeastern border. Weather and water conditions will dictate where the best fishing can be found. Instruction and all equipment are provided as well as a sack lunch.

$325 per person with a minimum of two anglers

$400 for only one angler at time of making a reservation

  • 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM

Raft Supported trips, June 15 – September 1

A great way to experience our waterways is on a raft supported fishing trip. Our float trips differ from some lower 48 trips in that we use our boats to access some great fishing, however we rarely fish while floating down the stream. Usually we fish after stopping at mouths of tributaries, getting out and wade fishing the feeder streams and upstream from the confluence. When the water conditions allow, we will also fish from the boat while floating downstream.

Full Day Raft Trip:

$350 per person based on a minimum of two people

$425 for only one person when reserving trip

  • 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM
